Cllr Mark Hawthorne, leader of Gloucestershire County Council, said: "The night was a great success and I was massively impressed by the levels of commitment and hard work all the short-listed candidates had shown. They should all be very proud.

“It was only right that we also recognised the work that the businesses have done with young people. Without them setting the precedent of offering opportunities to young people, others may be more reluctant to follow.

“I’d also like to thank everyone who came and showed their support for our county’s brilliant young people, and to everyone that has helped to make the event such a success.”
